Mom's Hair Day

To add to the confusion in April, we also had Cody's 10th birthday and I still have to get the pics from Marc to upload them. Sara had a couple in her family who had birthdays too and Kevin turned18 on the 14th. It's been a wild and busy month. This weekend, April 25th is the first weekend since Kim and Jouzie moved here, mid March, that we haven't had something happening.

We did squeak out a couple of days recently in the high 70's and low 80's and we took advantage of it. We were out on the deck a lot and since we now have a hair stylist in the family we took advantage of that too and got mom's hair trimmed up. Not her most flattering pic, but let's you know we keep her groomed!!.

Soccer 2009

First day of the season for Cody and Rylee.
Rylee in action. She averages 5-6 goals per game. She's a go-getter.
Cody in action. He's a great goalie and here's he's doing one of his famous saves.

Easter 2009

We all gathered again at Marc and Sara's to color Easter eggs on Saturday, April 11th. Mom is kicking back before the fun begins -- yes, that's a beer she's holding!!! Arn asked her to hold his beer, and then giggled as we took the pic. But no, she doesn't drink beer.
Ok, we're ready to go. Cody and Jouzie are anxious, what are we waiting for????
Almost the whole group -- from bottom middle around in a circle to the left are: back of Jouzie's head, Sara, Cody, Bryson, JP, Kevin, Christine, Kim, and Rylee. JP and Christine are Sara's brother and sister.
Easter morning Jouzie finds her basket from the Easter bunny.
Skeeter decided she needed help opening it.
Easter afternoon was cold and raining (what else is new?) so we scratched the outside Easter egg hunt and resorted to the basement. Down the stairs we come . . .
Dad (Steve) is looking over Rylee and Jouzie finding eggs.
Yeah!!! I found one. Kim had stuffed 31 eggs for each kid and marked them with their initials. They could only pick up an egg with their initial on it and they couldn't tell if they found someone elses egg.
No . . . we don't use that machine for much else than hidden eggs.
You can see the big people are helping alot.
Cody and Rylee looking for initials . . . whose is it????
Skeeter found quite a few eggs. We hadn't counted on her helping out!!!
Jouzie with her fishing pole that the Easter bunny brought her. It also came with a mini tackle box, net, and bobbers. She's ready to go . . .
Well, after the hard work of hunting eggs, of course, we had to eat . . it was delicious.
Other than me (pic taker) these are all our mugs.

Jouzie's 5th Birthday

Ok, I know this first pic doesn't look like a birthday party. But I had to include it cuz this is the snow fall that happened between Bryson's birthday and Jouzie's (April 4th) and she got to finally build a snowperson (politically correct) with mom (Kim).
Ok -- to the party. We celebrated at Marc and Sara's house. Here's Marc grilling the feast.
Marc and Steve hanging the pinata with all the neighborkids looking on.
The first gift was a bat (of course).
This is not as easy as it looks. As you can see it's a Spiderman pinata. Jouzie even has a Spiderman bed (she's not real girly-girl yet).
Rylee takes a turn trying to break the candy out.
Ok, dad (Steve) finally helps and the candy starts to fall.
Dad and Rylee help to read the cards.
I'm blowing as hard as I can -- I'm only 5, but look at all the candles they put on my cake!!!
Here's two more people that are blowing hard. Marc and grandma were helping to make a lot of birthday noise.
Bubbles . . . bubbles . . . bubbles everywhere.
Family picture.

Bryson's 16th Birthday

We all gathered at the local bowling alley (cuz everyone likes to bowl) for this birthday bash. Hard to believe that Bry is 16.
The clarity on these pics is not great cuz almost everyone forgot their cameras and the two that remembered couldn't get them to work so grandma (me) took all the pics with her cell phone.
Here's the group enjoying a great cake. Best way I know of to spend a rainy day -- eating!
Pops (Marc) and son -- cuuuuuuuuuute . . .
