Mom 85th

What a great day! We celebrated mom's 85th birthday by all gathering at an Italian restaurant in downtown Spokane -- Luigi's. They set us up in a private room and we had great food and wonderful service. Here's a mug shot of the whole gang. Click on the pic and it will blow up so you can really see us -- oh boy.
Mom is opening a card from Jouzie.

She had a lot of cards to open.
I know this pic is blury but it's the only one I got of her birthday ice cream with a candle in it. However, as you can see the dish of ice cream is behind her wine glass so you can't see it anyway!!! Hey, I never claimed to be a photographer -- you can see the candle???!!!.
And lastly, opening gifts too.
Everyone had a good time and we're grateful for mom having another birthday so we all had an excuse to get together. Thanks mom!

Addition to Wildlife Family

Well, all the turkeys disappeared for awhile and this mama finally showed back up the other day with her new little ones. She has nine babies. They are adorable.

Father's Day

Arn had a great Father's Day. I surprised him with the Sunday morning delivery of a new infared grill on which we cooked steaks and added these huge king crab legs. This grill is now attached to our natural gas line so we no longer have to fill propane tanks -- yeah. It's also a new and different grilling experience so we're learning as we go.

Mom's Sister Passes

Just a quick attachment to let everyone also know that mom's sister, Corrine Nordquest, passed away quit suddenly May 22. She lived in OH., but kept regular contact with mom thru letters and newsy articles. She will be greatly missed by all of us even if mom doesn't quite realize or remember. Harland, who also lives in OH, is now her only living brother. They were both the babies of the family.

Moving Day -- AGAIN!!!

On June 6th Steve, Kim and Jouzie made the trek to their own apt. across town to the South Hill. The inevitable U-Haul being loaded by Bryson (nice legs!) and Arn.
Steve and Arn carry out furniture from the basement.
Lunch break outside the patio entrance to the new digs.
Considering the lack of sleep Steve had I think he looks pretty good. He worked all day Fri., all night Fri. night, moved all day Sat., and worked all night Sat. night. I guess you have to be young!!! And Kim -- well, she always looks beautiful.
Great move day and they are still unpacking boxes -- but they'll get there. It's so quiet around our house I keep an ear tuned for more noise.

Kevin's Graduation

On Sunday May 31st we all attended a graduation party at his house in Post Falls, ID. It was a warm beautiful day with lots of great food, fun, and tears for this first child and grandchild to graduate. Here's Kevin with Arnie, Diane and mom.
Kevin with proud dad and stepmom Sara
We got to the auditorium really early to get good front row seats. If you look hard you can see (from left to right): Arnie, Bryson (Kevin's brother), Marvin (Kevin's grandfather), Camilla (Aunt), Michelle (mother), Sara and Marc. Of course, yours truly is taking the pic.
And of course The Graduate!!!! Way to go Kev.

Mom's Manicure

Here we have Kim (with Jouzie's help) giving mom a manicure. Kim wanted to practice before she took her battery of tests for her national boards. I even got a great facial. She passed all her tests and now is working full-time and is busy, busy, busy.
